  Would strongly recommend against organising a function at the Canberra Club due to their lack of communication and cancelling the venue at late notice. Having sent them an email confirming the details of our event 10 days in advance and asking for an invoice, they were completely unresponsive. I received a call 5 days before the event further confirming the details. Only for them to send me an email later that day (not even having the courtesy to call) saying they had changed their minds.This was extremely late notice and caused a lot of problems for our event. There was no reason that this couldn't have been communicated or clarified earlier, and the lack of professionalism in this regard was extremely disappointing. We will not be using this venue again or recommending it to other volunteer organisations.
